Private Puppy Lessons - $90 for a 60 minute session
Let us reduce your stress from owning a young puppy. Do you need help with biting, jumping, barking, potty training, etc? We offer solutions to these problems and more. The basis of the lessons are to teach the puppy how to learn, and establish eye contact. We introduce the following skills: sit, stay, come, down, wait, leave it, and loose leash walking. These private lessons allow us to cover a great deal of information during a 60 minute consultation/training.
Basic Obedience Training $750 14 day program (7 skills) + $50 total boarding
$400 7 day program (3 skills) + $25 total boarding
Our program uses a variety of training tools. The majority of the training includes the use of a prong collar, flat collar, 4 foot leash, check cords, clickers, treats, and praise. Basic skills include sit, stay, come, down, wait, leave it, and loose leash walking. All programs can be customized to meet your individual needs. All skills will be taught in a manner that is consistent and fair to the dog. We offer a 7 day program which can work on 2 or 3 skills due to the shortened training time. On the day you pick up your dog, there will be a demonstration of skills. The trainer handles the dog and the owner handles the dog. We want to answer all your questions so the owner feels comfortable working with their pup at their home. We are big believers in working 10 minutes a day to insure steady improvement while at home.
Intermediate Obedience Training $950 14 day program + $50 total boarding
This program builds on basic obedience skills by using increased distance and duration. The leash will be used at the beginning of the program, then slowly reduced. We want the dog to follow commands without a leash for the majority of the demonstration. The command "sit" will now turn in a stay. Stay and recall commands will be learned at 20 feet, 40 feet, and 80 feet. This program will also challenge the dog by walking nicely on the busy main street of Northfield, Minnesota. On the day you pick up your dog there will be a demonstration of skills. The trainer and owner will handle the dog. The owner will have all of their questions answered
In-Home Consultation / Training - $90 for 60 minutes
Perhaps you want your trainer to pay a visit to your home? Many dogs are more comfortable being trained in their own home. Many issues a dog owner may have occur in the home. This in-home training can deal with many issues: jumping, counter surfing, digging in the garbage, barking, nipping, potty training, and basic obedience. During the 60 minute training session, both home owner and trainer will be able to work on multiple problem areas. We suggest booking 2 of these lessons to allow the dog's owner a week to practice their newly acquired training tips. $90.00 for a 60 minute consultation / training
Boarding - (rates found below)
Our boarding facilities are climate controlled to make our guests comfortable. The kennels are spacious 6 X 6 ft. living areas. We provide each area with a raised bed, and stainless steel water/food bowls. We take pride in our sanitizing protocols that insure a clean environment. Dogs are destressed by classical music designed to calm anxious dogs. The music plays 24/7 every day of the week. All boarding dogs have access to our outside play area which measures 26,000 sq. ft. Every dog is let out 4 times a day to enjoy fresh air and play. If you have a dog that is uncomfortable around other dogs, we have a smaller outside enclosure to allow the dog freedom to be outside. Extra play, Brain Games, and even training can be added to a dog's stay.
To avoid any tummy issues with your dog, we ask that you provide all food and treats needed during their stay. Non-injection medications will be administered at no cost. We charge our boarding by the number of sleeps. The check-out times are flexible and we don't increase our rates during holidays.

​Bring enough food for your entire stay, treats, chew toy for their kennel, blanket, and
proof of up to date vaccinations including Bordetella.
ADDITIONAL BOARDING OPTIONS
Problem Solving Play - Allows your dog to expend energy while interacting with treat puzzles. Dogs are exposed to a variety of brain puzzles that release a treat when solved. This is a great way to burn off extra energy while entertaining your dog in the process. $5.00 per dog per day. This is a supervised activity.
Extra Outside Play - Your dog will enjoy an additional play session each day during their stay. This session may or may not include other dogs. If you have a dog who begs for more of the great outdoors, this is a great offering. $5.00 per dog per day. This is a supervised activity.
Loose Leash Lessons - Many dogs need additional training to walk nicely on a leash. We will work on loose leash walkng during their boarding stay. $30.00 per dog per day. (3-day minimum)

Gunderson Dog Training and Boarding reserves the rights to dismiss any dog that does not meet or maintain the health and temperament during their stay - owner shall receive $40 for every day remaining on their boarding stay (if prepaid) or training reservation.
